Utila Island truly is a divers paradise. The north side is famous for wall diving and deep drop-offs. Spectacular shallow water coral gardens line the south shore. Whale sharks are present in Utilan waters all year round but are especially prevalent in spring. To snorkel or dive with these gentle giants is an awe inspiring experience that never gets old.

If you've never tried diving and would like to learn, there are a number of reputable dive schools in town. Utila is known to be the least expensive place on Earth to become a certified scuba diver or dive master.
